Goals of the Directory of Graduate Studies

1. To facilitate and expedite the successful completion of graduate students' degrees.

2. To foster, examine and approve graduate students' academic projects that are consistent with their development as future scholars in the field of Interdisciplinary Humanities.

3. To guide graduate students in the process of becoming better teachers and researchers.

4. To create spaces for graduate students' academic development.

5. To help students navigate through graduate school.

6. To serve as a mentor for graduate students during their job searches.

7. To sustain the academic excellence of the graduate program.

8. To develop a graduate interdisciplinary academic community of the highest academic excellence.

9. To serve as a liaison between the graduate students, the Director and staff of DIH.

10. To promote joy, comradeship, inclusiveness, diversity, intellectual curiosity and interdisciplinary dialogue in order to create an advanced community of inquiry.
